Sketches

Had a great night last night at Scrap of Difference Friday night crop.  Got two layout's done, both from sketches.  I have discovered that picking a sketch, then a photo to suit then the papers and embellishments works for me.  I am so happy with how these pages came out and the fact that they came together so easily.
This is Sketch #150 from Creative Scrappers.

and this is the April sketch challenge from Scrap pile.

Thanks for looking and I hope you have a great weekend.

Wow What a productive day.

Anne came over today and inspired me to complete all the challenges for Fancy That, our local scrap shop.  Here are the results, thanks for looking.

 This is the card challenge

I went REALLY lumpy with the bunch of flowers in the bottom left corner, not going to be easy to get this one into a sleeve to go into an album.

I was really happy with how quickly and easily this one came together, don't you just love it when that happens.  I have to say I think I will go back to scanning my layouts as taking photos of them just doesn't really work that well for me.  The colours look muted, probably the light, but nothing I can do about it now as I have handed them into the store and won't get them back until the end of next month.  Never mind, live and learn.

Thank you Anne, for your company and ideas today, had a lovely time scrapping with you as usual.  I like the way we can just sit and chat or not and it really is just nice.  I loved what you were working on and look forward to seeing the finished card.

Another week begins

Well it is Monday again, gee it seems to come around quicker each week.  Took the boys (dogs) for their walk this morning.  I walk DS to school and then continue on around the school, taking the long way home.  It means I walk for about 30 min each morning and while it isn't making much difference on the scales, I do feel better for it and I know it will make a difference eventually.  It also gives me an opportunity to exercise the boys and make sure they can walk properly on a lead.

I managed to get the Sketch challenge for Scrap of Difference March Cybercrop done yesterday and uploaded it to the site tonight.

I hope to make a start on the card challenge while Rick watches the football but probably won't get it finished.  Oh well, at least this month I managed to get 2 out of 4 challenges done and uploaded.

Busy week

Hi all,

Had a busy week here, but not a lot of scrapping done, I did however manage to get 2 pages done.  Both for Scrap of difference challenges.  This one is the February product challenge.

and this one is the Colour challenge for the March cybercrop

Bit of a bittersweet day today, our foster dog, Sarge, went to his new home.  I will miss the big lug and I know Rick will too.  Rick wanted to adopt him and I would have been happy to if we had enough money to do it, but we just don't have $385 to spare at the moment.  But hopefully he will be happy and we will be updated as to his wellbeing.  On a brighter note, we got a new foster, Rocky, supposedly a great dane x rottweiler, but we think it might be doberman not rotti.  His is too fine a build.

Anyway not a lot to say tonight, thanks for looking at my layouts, I am going to continue cleaning up my scrap space and hopefully get the rest of the challenges done, while Rick watches sport.

My efforts of the last week.

This is my take on the card challenge for my LSS Fancy That.  I was quite pleased with the way this one turned out.  Anne came over to scrap on Wednesday and I decided I would get started with this one first.

Next I finished this one off, was supposed to have finished it for a product challenge for my favourite scrap site, Scrap of difference, but as usual I didn't get it finished in time.  I am always taken aback by just how much our Grand-daughter looks like her mother, especially at this age.

I then decided I would do the sketch challenge #145 from Creative Sketches.  Managed to finish it before I had to go get the kids from school.  Not real sure about it but then I am always critical of my own work, as most of us are.

This is my take on the monthly product challenge for March from Scrap of Differnce.  The challenge was to use Rub on's.  Did this page last night, not my most productive night, only got this page done, but did manage to work out which papers I wanted to use for the February product challenge, luckily it is not due until March 31st.  Hopefully I will get off my backside ( and facebook) and get some more scrapping done this weekend.

My take on the Creative scrappers sketch 143

Our Daughter Holly and her cousin Lonnie, who was our pageboy 25 yrs ago.  I love this photo, it shows a special bond between cousins.

My latest creative efforts

This is a challenge sketch from creative scrappers.  The top photo is my husband Rick and I cutting our cake, our daughters organised the party and made sure to have a replica of our wedding cake there.  The bottom photo is of us with our then Maid of Honour and Page boy.  Our nephew Lonnie was page boy and when we saw him a few months before the party, I jokingly told him that I wanted him to wear the same thing he wore to the wedding, to the party. He didn't disappoint, he wore exactly what he had worn on our wedding day, down to the white shoes.

This layout is one I have been meaning to do since last years papercraft fair.  This was a kit I bought to do, but I just couldn't find the right colour stazon ink, so I finally gave up looking and made do with what I had.

Well here I am

I was asked recently by a friend if I blog, it made me think about it again.  Then when I was trying to work out how to upload a url image of a page for a comptetition again I thought, maybe I should start blogging.  So here I go.

Don't know how interested anyone is going to be in what I have to say, but I will say it anyway, I usually do.
