Well, it is wet out there, very wet.  I hope you all home safe and dry.

Busy day yesterday and more to come.  I got the shelves for my craft room.  I am in the process of rearranging it and tidying it up.  Hopefully will be able to get rid of some things.  I think I have about 6 cutters.  I will definately keep the 2 purple cow ones and my kaiser, but the others can go.  Really don't need that many.  I will (with great embarassment) show you the before photos when I have after photos to show as well.

Does your family hand you everything they pick up, ie; batteries, papers, catalogues etc. and just expect you to put it away where it belongs, or as in my case does everything end up on your craft desk or personal workspace?  I have decided to put a couple of in trays in my new shelves and everything can go in there and be kept tidy and sorted.  Lets hope it works.

Kids back to school here on Tuesday, CAN NOT WAIT, just hope the rain lets up by then.  My youngest, Robbie, goes into yr 2 this year, suddenly he seems older.  Is everyone looking forward to it or do you like having your kids at home?

Yummy Cinnamon scrolls for breakfast today, if you like to bake or have a sweet tooth, this is such an easy recipe, thank you Melissa for putting it on your blog http://melissagoodsell.typepad.com/day_to_day/2011/05/cinnamon-scroll-bake-off.html
In fact if you like craft and turning a house into a home, this is a great blog to follow.

Any way I will go for now and try to work out how to get my shelves inside without getting wet.

Well...  It is now 2013.  I have been very slack and not posted for much too long.

I have to admit that my goal of being published for my scrapbooking hasn't happened.  I have had very little motivation or inspiration.  I am hoping this year will be different.  I have been taking lots of photos, people, places and just things I find interesting, mostly nature shots.  I will post some here.  I need to practise more and learn more too, but I do enjoy it and think I have an eye for what makes a good photo.

As to my other crafts, I finished a crochet blanket for our grand daughter Ashleigh and then Robert wanted one, so I started one for him (not finished yet).  I haven't touched my cross stitch in months, nor any of my other craft projects.

I really need to clean out and re organise my craft space.  I will take some photos (blush) of the mess and then hopefully over the next couple of months I will be able to show the transformation.  I have an idea of what I want it to look like, I just have to be able to afford the furniture and make it work.

I will finish with a photo of our 2 day holiday in Yamba, just got back this afternoon.

The Ides of March. Well here in Australia it is the 15th ;)

I am sitting here being huffed at by Chester, I think he wants to go out, lovely boy that he is.  We have only had him for a little over 6 mths, he came to us as a stray who was trying to find his family and they never came for him, so we adopted him.  He is such a good dog, doesn't chase the cat even though he wants to play, doesn't run off if you let him out of the yard.  He does go for a walk but comes back when you call.  Doesn't try to drag you around when we go for a walk and is so gentle with the kids.  I just can't understand why his original family didn't look for him, but a part of me is really glad they didn't. Here he is getting a big cuddle from our grandson.

As I sit here typing, I wonder why anyone would be interested in what I have to say, or more importantly, do I have anything interesting to say?  I guess to some it may be interesting but then to a lot of others it is probably just the same old boring stuff, which in some ways is good.  To know that others have ordinary lives too can be a comfort.  I also am thinking this may be a good way for me to deal with some of the more difficult things in my life, like the accident I was in 4 yrs ago.  It seems it is finally going to be put behind me in a couple of weeks.  I am in the final process of the settlement procedure and after that I will be able to move on, I hope.  Not having to think about the settlement will hopefully remove some stress from my life.  Then money will relieve some of the financial stress as well.

I am trying to get back into my crafting, managed to get 2 of the 3 (so far) challenges done for Fancy That Scrapbooking(http://fancythatscrapbooking.blogspot.com.au/).  Check it out, they also have a sketch challenge for March as well, that I am hoping to get done.

I am also making the effort to get to  Jo's Scrap of Difference for their friday night crop. http://josscrapofdifference.blogspot.com/

Well that is all from me for now, I hope you are having a great day and remember, you don't have to be the best at what you do, so long as your do your best to be the best you.

Well that is nice way to lift my mood, not that I was unhappy, just a little flat.  I have done the folding, put some clothes on the line, stripped the bed and washed the sheets. All the usual daily stuff that most of us do all the time, nothing new in that and I am not trying to be a martyr, just that I am always pleased when I actually get more than a couple done in one day.

Was sitting browsing online and when I read the email about the class, I decided I needed to act, so I just got off the phone with the lovely people at Scrapmatts.  I have booked my seat at Angella Peardon's card class at the upcoming Brisbane crafts show.  I have wanted to do so many of the classes at the shows and always miss out because I don't book in early enough.  I have never booke this far in advance.

I am rather excited now and hopefully this will give me the boost I need to get back into my crafting.

Watch this space... will let you know if the mojo is back and try to take some photos to show you what I have been up to.

WOW, can't believe it has been so long since I posted anything on here. I seem to have been very busy, but can't tell you what I have been doing.  Not because I don't want to but because I just am not sure what has kept me so busy.

I have had fun checking out other blogs, made some really yummy cinnamon scrolls from a recipe posted by One Crafty Mumma, if you get a chance check her out of facebook.

I have been looking after my grandson while eldest daughter works, not every day I couldn't cope with that but one day a week.  So glad she is working though.

Managed to get back to scrapbooking and was actually productive on Friday night at Scrap of Difference.  Completed a card challenge and a layout both for Fancy That's monthly challenges.

I am also working with a group called Furry Friends Animal Rescue Qld, they do great work saving dogs from pounds etc and rehomeing them.  Very rewarding.

Well today is my birthday lunch with the family, not sure this is of any interest to anyone but I figure blogging is about what is going on in your life and Friday was my birthday and today my family are taking me to lunch to celebrate.  I don't worry about getting older, I don't feel my age anyway, pretty sure we all can relate to that.  I think I look pretty good for my age and am happy with just about everything in my life.  I wish the settlement for my car accident 4 yrs ago would come through, but other than that, I don't really have too much to complain about.

Sketches

Had a great night last night at Scrap of Difference Friday night crop.  Got two layout's done, both from sketches.  I have discovered that picking a sketch, then a photo to suit then the papers and embellishments works for me.  I am so happy with how these pages came out and the fact that they came together so easily.
This is Sketch #150 from Creative Scrappers.

and this is the April sketch challenge from Scrap pile.

Thanks for looking and I hope you have a great weekend.

Wow What a productive day.

Anne came over today and inspired me to complete all the challenges for Fancy That, our local scrap shop.  Here are the results, thanks for looking.

 This is the card challenge

I went REALLY lumpy with the bunch of flowers in the bottom left corner, not going to be easy to get this one into a sleeve to go into an album.

I was really happy with how quickly and easily this one came together, don't you just love it when that happens.  I have to say I think I will go back to scanning my layouts as taking photos of them just doesn't really work that well for me.  The colours look muted, probably the light, but nothing I can do about it now as I have handed them into the store and won't get them back until the end of next month.  Never mind, live and learn.

Thank you Anne, for your company and ideas today, had a lovely time scrapping with you as usual.  I like the way we can just sit and chat or not and it really is just nice.  I loved what you were working on and look forward to seeing the finished card.
